Living well in the Cayman Islands

There is no doubt that today’s generation is very aware of the importance of mental and physical wellbeing. Many methods of relaxing the body and mind are available on the market. Classics like yoga and massage never go out of fashion, but there are also new techniques being introduced all the time to help relieve stress and promote wellness.

Sitting on Seven Mile Beach with the waves gently lapping against the shore is an excellent start. Still, to really blow the cobwebs away, there are spas, studios, and speciality treatment centres positioned throughout the Cayman Islands to help you feel renewed and invigorated.

Yoga, in all its many forms, has a strong following here. Classes take place in studios, on rooftop terraces, beach cabanas, and organized weekend retreats. Buy a membership or book on a class-by-class basis if you need flexibility. Gear and accessories are available for sale at several local shops.

You’ll be spoiled for choice when looking for a spa. Smaller operations usually offer massages, facials, and mani-pedis at the very least. Large spas – located in the big resorts – have thorough menus that delve into body treatments, scrubs, and targeted therapies. Expect extra amenities like steam rooms, saunas, and whirlpools, along with relaxation rooms featuring healthy snacks and fruit-infused water.

Indulge with a couples massage on the beach in a custom cabana – it’s what being in the tropics is all about. There are also mobile companies on the island that will come directly to your home or rented villa. Very convenient when you don’t feel like venturing out.

More specialised services like IV therapies and hypnotherapy are available at qualified clinics like REVIV and the DaVinci Centre. The latter also offers medical aesthetic treatments and guided meditation sessions, including many other options to help you feel your best.

Island life is certainly less stressful than living in a big city, but that doesn’t mean regular wellness treatments aren’t just what the doctor ordered. Luckily, you’ll never have to do without here. Relaxation is just a phone call away.
