Originally from Durban, South Africa, Donovan grew up in the ocean, enjoying deep sea fishing and surf lifesaving, which quickly transitioned into his first job as a professional lifeguard. He moved on to many successful years as a property valuer before embarking on a global travel expedition, culminating in a visit to the Cayman Islands in 1994. Intending to stay for only three weeks, the beauty and tranquility of the Cayman Islands captured his heart, and he was sold on making Cayman his home. For the past 27 years, Donovan has enjoyed a multi-award-winning and highly successful sales career in business technology hardware and software.
Donovan is a devoted husband of 21 years to his wife, Colleen, who is the founder and owner of ENERGY Pilates in Cricket Square. Together they enjoy a passion for interior design and home renovations. They have personally customised Colleen’s pilates studio and several homes, including their current South Sound Condo, where they reside with their three “boys” (cats) rescued from the Human Society. More than anything, they love to travel and often vacation in destinations around the world centered around wine tasting, including Mendoza, Napa, Stellenbosch, Vienna, Vancouver, and Croatia.
Donovan is not only disciplined and passionate about providing his clients with exceptional and professional service, but he is also dedicated to the Cayman Islands community, having served as a director on the board of the Cayman Islands Cancer Society for the past 13 years.
